River Arno – storybook art

A few of the days I was in Florence were pretty overcast and bleck. That didn’t stop me from taking loads of photos, though. What can I say? It brings me joy. I know good photographs should not rely on Photoshop to make them good. But it still can be a nice tool when you want to achieve a different look. A lot of the scenes in Europe with the old architecture, color, texture, cobblestone, etc. have a storybook feel to them. Using a pseudo HDR process and adding a warming photo filter to the original overcast image turns it into something that looks as if it could be a part of a children’s book about a man who traveled the world in his canoe.
