I was taking my friends’ family photos the other week. We were at this awesome-looking stone building at Highbanks Park in Columbus. I was trying to have them sit together on the edge of the stone because I thought it might add good texture. However, getting three kids to sit and pose perfectly in unison was about like herding cats. The parents were pretty much always on and waiting for the camera. Which helps. It does. But the kids were all about doing their own things. Ends up, I pretty much like the resulting natural photos better.

It’s been forever since I posted a new photo on this site. Life seems to get busier and spare time lessens. But it is that perfect time of year to take a moment and enjoy the people and the things that make you happy. For anyone who might read this, I wish you a wonderful holiday season and an amazing new year ahead. God bless.

What can I say? I’m still playing with textures. It’s becoming a sickness and I might need some professional help soon. But in the meantime, I’m enjoying myself. I love how texture changes the feel of the photo. It makes almost any image more interesting. I’m finding that the subject matter really doesn’t…well, matter.

NOTE: For the record, I’m not a big fan of the font I used in this image. But I’m in a bit of a hurry and don’t really have time to find a better one. So you’re stuck with Ballpark Weiner. (I’m not even kidding. That’s the name of the font.)
