Photos taken this past Fall of another young and attractive couple who are getting married this spring. I’ve worked a lot with Carrie’s family in one way or another. They are such great people with kind hearts. You can see it in her smile and the way she and Eric look at each other. Wishing them the best in their marriage and their life they will make together.

Below are a few of my favorites from our afternoon together.

I borrowed my neighbors baby girl the other day because I bought a tutu and I needed someone to wear it! That’s right. I bought a tutu. I was perusing the Etsy website and came across the cutest tutu that I’ve ever seen. I bought the 18 month size immediately with no regard to the fact that I not only don’t have an 18 month old daughter but I have no daughter at all. And all my nieces are too old or live too far away. And besides, I don’t want to give it to anyone else. I want to keep it. I’m stingy that way. So that’s what I did. I kept it. For months and months until my neighbors’ daughter was old/big enough to wear it. Then I borrowed her so I could get the cutest photos I’ve ever taken in my life. Here’s one of them. Seriously. Tutus rule!

Tutu cute!

I got together with my friend this weekend to take her son’s 6 month photos. Here’s what I have to say about this little guy….

I have a hankering for BABY!!

Another shot of the Ciro-flex camera in vertical orientation. I’m kind of digging this texture business and how it changes photos.

I used the sameĀ background textures that I uploaded previously. Here’s how my Photoshop layers look. We start from the bottom background layer that is the original shot of the Ciro-flex camera. On top of that is the “Ceramic tile” texture – Mode: Hard Light; Opacity: 20%. Next layer up is the “Stamped and tinted concrete (flagstone) 2” – Mode: Saturation; Opacity: 100%. And the final layer that is on top is the “Cork board” texture – Mode: Overlay; Opacity: 20%.

One photo. Three textures. Instant antique photograph.

It’s been a long time since I posted anything. Holy smokes, life (i.e. WORK!) has been so crazy lately that I can’t even think about doing anything extra, even if it is something that I enjoy. But it’s Saturday night. I’ve taken a minute to breathe. And it’s time to add a new post to my blog before the last two people who were interested in it decide to walk away and not look back.

I have this old camera that’s been sitting on the shelf in my husband’s office area. I find myself looking at it a lot. It seems to be calling my name and asking me to photograph it. “Jeeeeeennny. JEEEEEENNNY. Take a picture of me. Pleeeeeease??” It seems to have a personality. And a history. Maybe even some baggage. I can’t tell what’s going on with it yet but I’m sure it’ll tell me eventually.
